Conil de la Frontera is a beach locality in the Province of Cádiz. It is right in the heart of Costa de la Luz, neighbored by Vejer de la Frontera, La Barrosa, and Chiclana. In the last few years, it has become a reference point for tourism, and to which it owes it´s source of income.

Although Conil has a population of over 20,000 inhabitants, it has not lost it´s typical "gaditano" traditional look. It´s narrow streets bring an arabic feel to the town. Although you must not be mislead, as it´s origins are phoenician. In Conil as well as Barbate, the red tuna caused a big rage in ancient civilizations, just as it does today for the japonese.

Traditionally Conil de la Frontera´s source of income was based on agriculture, fishing, and livestock, but in the last few years, following the tone of the rest of Costa de la Luz, it is also making progress in the tourism sector.

La Fontanilla Beach, the Puerto Pesquero (the fishing port), and El Museo de las Raices Conileñas (the museum of the roots of Conil) are some of the places that are considered a "must see" while visiting Conil.
